pity party

I'm posting right now, only because of the obligation to the commitment I made for myself this month. Truthfully, I should be going to bed. I don't have much nice to say. I'm not looking forward to this weekend and I'm stewing over that a bit. I'm sure I'll be over it by... Monday? Anyway, I don't really have anything legit to complain about... just a bit of selfishness and disappointment.

On a happy note, I got TWO free amazon mp3 downloads tonight which was a nice blessing. I was able to get a song I've been meaning to buy for FREE! Yep, awesomeness. If you want to do it, just click this link. It really does work! :) Free Amazon MP3 Download

Also, another happy thing from today (which I sadly didn't have a camera for)... the kids and I checked out a park in town that we'd never been to before. BONUS: it has a merry-go-round. How awesome is that? For some reason this particular playground reminded me of playgrounds from my childhood. Watching my kids gave me a glimpse of what my parents felt when I was as small. Sometimes it doesn't seem like enough time has passed to be watching my own children. Double BONUS: it was super easy to keep an eye on all 3 of my kiddos by myself. The other (super nice) park in town, has LOTS of blind spots and makes me nervous to go there without some help.

Last but not least, some sweet moments from today... :)

And now, a not so sweet moment... :(

Clearly pissed that I took candy from her.
"How could mama do that?!"
"I was gonna share..."

Oh yes, throwing herself in the floor and making sure someone is watching.

Wordless{NOT} Wednesday

I whipped this up after my devotional the other day. It is based on (obviously, if you can read), Ephesians 3:20.

"Now unto Him who is able to far more abundantly than all that we can ask or think,"

That "him" is referring to God. In all his infinite power. The same power that raised Christ from the dead. The God from who everything on Earth is named.

Now. Unto. HIM.

So unto him, what?

Glory, glory, glory! Forever and ever and ever!

The past few weeks have given me so much to praise Him for. There have been struggles, sure. I have been tired and drained and exhausted. I've seen heartbreak and failures. But through it all, one thing remains truer than true...

He is able to do far more abundantly than ALL I could ask or think. He is faithful & steadfast. He never leaves me nor forsakes me. He is available and deserves all the glory I could give. My heart could burst with joy because of the individual care and love He has for me.

throws

Lately we have been in the throws of terrible two's. . .

Ava is all about screaming and throwing herself in the floor. One word to describe her... drama.

Lilly is testing every boundary and climbs like a monkey on EVERYTHING.

Two infants was sweet and challenging.

Two crawlers was fun and busy.

Two walkers was lighter on my arms and extra busy.

Two (almost) 2 year olds is hysterical, fun, busy, and EXHAUSTING.

 Whew!

To be honest, I am completely wiped right now. I also know that this season is just that, a season. And in all actuality, short. I have been given but a blink of an eye to assist in molding and training these little people. It may put a damper on my endurance to stay awake past 10 pm and get much alone time or even get a shower but it is worth it. They keep me on my toes and seeking the lord for wisdom more than ever.

So here I am at the end of the day still lacking for words and totally wiped.

 To that I'll say...

Goodnight.

awwww man & an update

So I'm sure you ALL noticed my absence yesterday but I had a brain lapse and completely forgot to post. I was having too much fun, apparently...

I'm feeling a bit empty for words so I'm going to share something that I started to write a while back and never posted for whatever reason :)

A little upity update.... :)

A few months ago I posted about our potty training d-day...

There is a reason I haven't posted since.

Between the busyness of having 2- 1yr olds & a 3 yr old and their seemingly not quite readiness, I kind of put the potty stuff on the back burner. And that's okay.

However, over the past couple of weeks their interest has increased and seemingly their awareness so I decided to give it another go :) They are doing really well with it! Honestly, they both have good days & bad days. Unfortunately, they only really seem to notice if they are butt naked. When I put anything on them, they pee with no care.

The most challenging part about p/t twins has to be the fact that there are 2 of them and it makes it hard to watch for potty signals- which leads to more messes than I care to clean up in 30 mins. So, I attempted a go at training undies (you know, the really thick ones) but undoubtedly, their skinny butts are waaaay too small for 2T- go figure. I have looked a couple of places around town for smaller sizes but to no avail. I probably need to google it :) For now, we do a lot of naked time and I'm forced to just clean up.

OH and don't let me forget to mention that someone stole our little kid potty. I mean, WHO steals a baby potty?! The bottom comes apart to make a stepping stool and Malakai had been using it at the sink where he got it all wet. I set it outside to dry while I did other things around the house. I noticed later that it wasn't outside our door so I assumed Michael had put in the shed or something. Since this was during the time when p/t was on the sidelines, I really didn't think much about it until a couple of days later. I went on the hunt for it only to find it had been potty snatched! :( It really makes it difficult when you have 2 girls that neeeed to potty at the same time. We'll be fine and make do with what we have but it still just baffles me.

And there you have it- We are taking it one day at a time and I'm pretty much letting them run the show- for now. Honestly, this is an okay place to be. Progress is being made and I am beginning to see a diaper-less home in the near future.
