10 in the bed and other such nonsense

One of things I really enjoy being a mom is the excuse to singing ridiculously with my kiddos. At any moment, someone could walk into my house and catch me acting far more silly than any adult should :-) We laugh (ok so maybe they are laughing at me but I'm perfectly ok with that) and dance and have a great time :-)

Some of my tops:

  • 10 in the bed (and the little one said roll over...)
  • Father Abraham
  • john jacob jingleheimer schmidt
  • Singing LOUDLY in our 15psgr van as a kid any and every disney song we knew
  • 10 little monkeys jumping on the bed
  • And there's this one my dad used to sing to us at bed time and the words are lost on me now... I'll need to ask him about that... the only line I can remember is, "the horse and the rider fell into the sea"
  • Lord's Army (mostly because my 2yr old walks around the house singing it w/motions all the time and it melts my heart)
Tell me, what are some of your favorites... songs/memories?

*side note: There is a really scary looking Mickey Mouse on t.v. right now...

**This is an edit from the original post**
I remembered a song which holds a special place in my heart that my Dad used to sing with us, "The Spirit of David". There were a few songs that EVERY night my Dad would sing/dance with us before bed. It is one of those blissful memories I'll never forget... and hope to pass on to my children. Dad, ya did good.

  1. [comment from my sister she accidentally left on another post]

"I will sing into The Lord for He has triumphed gloriously, the horse and the rider fell into the sea. (2x) The Lord liveth, and blessed be the rock, and may the God of our salvation be exalted. (2x)". At least that is how I remember it.

My favorite was Lord of the Dance. But just dancing with Daddy is one of the best memories.

  2. I knew I mis-remembered the second part. It kept not making sense in my head, so I looked it up, and the song comes from Exodus. The second part is something like "The Lord my God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation." Something like that. We need to check with Daddy.
